13 THE MUSICAL

at

The Bayway Arts Center

265 East Main Street, East Islip

April 25, 2015 – May 10, 2015

Musical by Jason Robert Brown

Geek. Poser. Jock. Beauty Queen. Wannabe. These are the labels that can last a lifetime. With an unforgettable rock score from TONY Award-winning composer Jason Robert Brown, 13 is a musical about fitting in – and standing out!

Evan Goldman is plucked from his fast paced, preteen New York City life and plopped into a sleepy Indiana town following his parent’s divorce. Surrounded by an array of simpleminded middle school students, he needs to establish his place in the popularity pecking order. Can he situate himself on a comfortable link of the food chain or will he dangle at the end with the outcasts?!

Tickets are $20 for adults, $18 for seniors, $13.00 for students and children 12 and under. Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover are accepted. Group rates are available. Call (631) 581-2700 or email bhtgroupsales@aol.com for group information. For individual ticket information and reservations, please call the Box Office at (631) 581-2700 or go to www.broadhollow.org.

Papa Roach with Special Guest – We Are Harlot @ The Paramount
Apr 28 @ 8:00 pm

Papa-Roach

Fear can sometimes be the best fuel. It pushes us into the unknown, makes us aware, and reminds us we’re alive. Embracing that mindset, Papa Roach transformed the word itself into a mantra for the title of their eighth full-length album, F.E.A.R. [Eleven Seven Music]. The Grammy Award-nominated, multi-platinum hard rock juggernaut builds its most infectious, invigorating, and incendiary body of work to date. They preserve the robust riffs and swaggering rhythms that marked their initial call-to-arms, while seamlessly infusing cinematic electronic flourishes, sweeping hooks, and magnetic melodies. As a result, the band—Jacoby Shaddix [vocals], Jerry Horton [guitars], Tobin Esperance [bass], and Tony Palermo [drums]—rise like never before…

Englishbeat

One tempestuous weekend in March 1979 was not only the date of the Three Mile Island nuclear incident, but also, in Birmingham, England, the very first show by a nascent band known as The Beat. Introduced as “the hottest thing since the Pennsylvania meltdown”, the band had a sense that the next few years could well be explosive! The Beat hailed from working class, industrial Birmingham, England. When The Beat rushed on to the music scene in 1979, it was a time of social, political and musical upheaval. Into this storm came The Beat, trying to calm the waters with their simple message of love and unity set to a great dance beat.

Sammy Adams @ The Paramount
May 1 @ 8:00 pm

sammy-adams

Boston’s Sammy Adams caused quite a stir in 2010 when his debut album topped the online hip-hop charts the week of its release. Samuel Adams Wisner was a senior at Trinity College in Hartford when he decided to inject some attitude into Asher Roth’s hit “I Love College.” With the results posted online under the name Sam Adams, his answer song, “I Hate College,” made the rapper an Internet star in 2009.

On the strength of his independently released album Boston’s Boy, and mixtapes like Party Records and Into the Wild, Sammy built through touring colleges and clubs across the country, and signed with RCA Records in 2012. Since then, the singer, songwriter, and producer has been in the studio with such collaborators as Pharrell Williams, Ryan Tedder, Mike Posner, Bei Maejor, Supa Dups, Afrojack, Matty Trump, and Vinylz, and others, working on his debut album.

THE FAB FAUX WITH THE HOGSHEAD HORNS AND THE CRÈME TANGERINE STRINGS Perform “The Glorious Hodgepodge Show” An Incredible Mix Of Early Greats To Symphonic Masterpieces

With a commitment to the accurate reproduction of The Beatles’ repertoire, The Fab Faux treat the seminal
music with unwavering respect, and are known for their painstaking recreations of the songs (with emphasis
on the later works never performed live by the Beatles). Far beyond a cover band, they play the music of
The Beatles so impeccably that one must experience it to believe it. Imagine hearing complex material like
“Strawberry Fields Forever” or “I Am the Walrus” performed in complete part-perfect renditions; or such
harmony-driven songs as “Because”, “Nowhere Man”, and “Paperback Writer”, reproduced not only note-
for-note, but with extra vocalists to achieve a double-tracked effect.

The musical virtuosity of The Fab Faux – in actuality five of the hardest working musicians in NYC –
completely up-ends the concept of a Beatles tribute band. Far beyond being extended sets of cover
versions, their astounding shows are an inspired re-discovery of the Beatles’ musical magic, as The Fab
Faux tackles the group’s most demanding material live onstage in a way that has to be experienced to be
believed.

Calling them, “the greatest Beatles cover band – without the wigs,” Rolling Stone senior editor David Fricke
wrote, “the Faux invigorate the artistry of even the Beatles’ most intricate studio masterpieces with top
chops and Beatlemaniac glee.” Approaching the songs with the intent of playing them live as accurately in
musical reading and in spirit as possible, The Faux’s breathtaking performances tend to dispel all
concertgoers’ previous notions of a Beatles tribute act.
“The Fab Faux have the hardest job in the history of R & R and they pull it off damn well. All rock bands want to be
like the Beatles; these guys have the nerve to BE the Beatles. Amazingly, they’re so good at it you learn new things
about the originals” – Dave Marsh, legendary Rock Critic and Sirius Radio Host.

Seether with Special Guest – Tremonti @ The Paramount
May 6 @ 7:30 pm

Seether

On their sixth full-length album Isolate and Medicate, multi-platinum alternative rock trio Seether – Shaun Morgan [vocals, guitar], Dale Stewart [bass, backing vocals], and John Humphrey [drums] – strip their trademark melodic thrash to its core and deliver the most poignant, passionate, and powerful record of their illustrious career.  With rigorous minimalism and maturity, chief songwriter Shaun Morgan – long one of rock’s most unheralded melodists, has become a composer of deep emotion and clear-eyed vulnerability.  The band too has developed into one of rock’s most fearsome units, playing with precision, grit and authority, yet still light on their feet.  After 15+ years of hardscrabble success, it’s evident that Seether felt like survival was not enough.  They had something to prove with this new album – somewhere farther to go.

In a recent interview, he discussed his experience at a Bianca show. “There was this great drag queen down in New Orleans and she was the master of ceremonies.  I said to her: ‘You were really funny’ and she responded, ‘I should be, I am on crack’. It was really funny. I will probably use the line now,” he said.
