August 4 & 5 at the HBTS Art Space
(Long Island, NY) Metal work, 3-D photographs, dance, music and canvas paintings are just some of the mediums in which artists are channeling this summer into a cohesive themed art show on the East End.
All of the artists have grown up on Long Island and live here making a living creatively. It’s an exciting time for these young people, because they are walking the almost ironic line of art and commerce and balancing quite well. These line walkers are also very specific in their direction. They understand that in order to have the freedom to live creatively, they need to work together in a highly organized way, in a non competitive atmosphere and in an efficient fashion to curate shows where they will sell their work.
The nucleus of this group of artists is AJB Productions- a Long Island lifestyle company giving artists unique opportunities.
Jael Baker, one of the artists and performers will be displaying and selling hand made jewelry at the art show as well as dancing during the live performance.
In addition to giving artists a core theme to work around, AJB believes in giving back to the community. Like most of their events, they have s a vein of philanthropy pulsing through it and The 2nd Annual AJB Art Show is no different ; It is also a fundraiser for the Hampton Ballet Theatre School to offset the price of a new floor.
