Caumsett Park hosts USA Track & Field 50K National Championship and GLIRC 25K Run
(Long Island, NY) Assemblyman Chad Lupinacci (R,C,WF,I-Huntington Station) recently joined nearly 4,000 runners from across the country for the USA Track & Field 50K National Championship and the Greater Long Island Running Club (GLIRC) 25K Run at Caumsett State Park. Franklin Diaz of Farmingdale and Stefanie Braun of Dix Hills were the winners of the 25k run, while Joseph Gray of Renton, Washington, and Shanna Ailes of Kent, Ohio, won their respective divisions for the 50k race.

“This weekend’s race was a spectacular opportunity to showcase the wonderful spaces our community has to offer,” said Lupinacci. “The runners all put on an incredible race and it was great to see so many community members in attendance to provide encouragement. I want to thank USA Track Field and GLIRC for their efforts and especially congratulate all the runners who took part.”
Gray finished the race in 2:55: 19, while Ailes took the women’s division with a time of 3:33:05.
