Show Dates: June 21 – August 2, 2013
(RIVERHEAD, NY) –– The East End Arts Gallery is pleased to announce an open call for artist participation in the upcoming juried, all media art show, Connections, at the East End Arts Gallery, opening with a reception on Friday, June 21 and running through August 2, 2013. The call is open to all artists to submit work that depict any sort of connection. The guest juror for this show is Sara De Luca, Director of ILLE Arts art gallery in Amagansett, NY. The East End Arts Gallery is located at 133 East Main Street in Riverhead, NY.
Gallery Director Jane Kirkwood encourages artists: “Connections can be emotional, structural, genetic, etc. Just open your eyes, connections are everywhere. Remember the saying: ‘If a butterfly flaps its wings in China…’ is it felt in some other form somewhere across the world?” Original works in all media may be submitted, including: painting, drawing, photography, mixed media, video, sculpture and poetry; up to three entries can be submitted per artist. Entries will be accepted on Thursday, June 13 from 10AM to 4PM; Friday, June 14 from 10AM to 4PM; and Saturday, June 15 from 10AM to 3:30PM at the East End Arts Gallery. The “Best in Show” winner of this show will be one of several artists who will participate in the East End Arts Gallery’s Winners’ Show in the Fall of 2014. First, Second, Third Place, and Honorable Mentions will also be awarded.
An Opening Reception will be held on Friday, June 21 from 5PM to 7PM, when guests will have an opportunity to meet the artists. This free event is open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
