(Long Island, NY) Fox News Channel political analyst and Newsday columnist Ellis Henican keynotes the Fair Media Council’s Folio Awards, the largest media event on Long Island and the only event in the country where the public judges the news, on Friday, April 19 at Crest Hollow Country Club, Woodbury, Long Island. The annual luncheon draws hundreds of business and community leaders and media from the New York metro area.
Henican headlines an all-star cast of New York media personalities at FMC Folio Awards: Cohosting the event is WCBS NewsRadio 880 anchor team Steve Scott and Wayne Cabot, while award presenters include WCBS-TV’s Chris Wragge and Mary Calvi; WNBC-TV’s David Ushery & Lynda Baquero; WNYW/FOX5’s Jill Nicolini & Steve Lacy; WABC-TV’s Joe Torres & Amy Freeze; WPIX-TV’s Sukanya Krishnan and Frances Rivera and WLIW’s Jim Paymar, host of the new program, ‘Long Island Business Report.’
“This year’s event will focus on the ‘Year that Changed Long Island’ and event attendees will get to view some of the most important news that ever happened on Long Island, yet few were able to see, due to lack of power,” said Jaci Clement, executive director of the Fair Media Council. “They’ll finally get the chance to see what Hurricane Sandy did to this place we call home, and the best in New York news will be onhand to take people into the story and behind the scenes.”
Henican is the author of three New York Times best sellers in as many years. His current book, Damn Few (with Navy SEAL Commander Rorke Denver) is drawing raves while his next book, coming in June, is Doc: A Memoir with Mets and Yankees great Dwight Goodin. Henican is also the voice of Stormy on the hit Cartoon Network series, “Sealab 2021.”
