The discussion led by pastor Father Michael Vetrano will look at” The Moral Teaching of the Church Since Vatican II“.
The Second Vatican Council challenged moral theologians and catechists to renew our moral teaching with an emphasis on discipleship, conscience and responsibility in living the Christian life.
The evening will explore the roots of this call, the emphasis of the council and where the church is going as a moral teacher in this millennium.
The attendees will discuss how we teach and are taught about sin, virtue, forgiveness and responsibility and also look at the ways the church’s own successes and failures have influenced its witness to society.
The discussion will take place in the Church and refreshments will be served after the discussion.
