(Long Island, NY) Farrell Fritz is pleased to announce that Joseph T. La Ferlita was recently appointed District Representative for Nassau and Suffolk Counties for the New York State Bar Association’s Trusts and Estates Law Section.

With this appointment, Mr. La Ferlita becomes a voting member of the Section’s Executive Committee, which is responsible for reviewing and approving all trusts and estates-related proposed legislation. During his three year term, he also will be responsible for organizing continuing legal education (CLE) seminars throughout the counties.
Mr. La Ferlita, a Locust Valley, NY, resident, is counsel concentrating his practice in trusts and estates law, with an emphasis on estate planning, estate and trust administration, and tax controversy. In addition to serving as District Representative, he is an active member of the Estate and Trust Administration Committee.
Mr. La Ferlita earned an LL.M. degree in taxation from New York University School of Law; his Juris Doctor degree from St. John’s University School of Law; his M.A. degree from Boston College and his B.S. degree from Fairfield University.
