NEW YORK, NY – United States Senate candidate Chele Farley (R, C, Reform) today called out Senator Kirsten Gillibrand’s dangerous, irresponsible and reckless call to scrap ICE – the Homeland Security agency charged with protecting our communities from sex trafficking, drug smuggling and other dangerous criminal activity by illegal immigrants.
Farley said: “Kirsten Gillibrand claims to be a leader in the #MeToo movement, but her call to abolish ICE shows she is irresponsible and dangerous. ICE keeps our children safe from sex trafficking, and from thugs like MS-13 gang members who live right here in New York. Senator Gillibrand’s criticism of the men and women who keep our country safe is nothing more than political pandering to the radical left wing of her party.”
During a June 28 interview with CNN’s Chris Cuomo, Senator Kirsten Gillibrand called for ICE to be abolished. Gillibrand’s proposal has been called “stupid” by members of her own party, and even Senior U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) thinks she has gone too far. Why has Gillibrand been denounced? Because time and time again, ICE has been our nation’s line of defense against MS-13’s sex trafficking rings.
“It’s time New York had a Senator who put our safety and our security first, and above her own political ambitions. Cracking down on violent gangs that imperil young, vulnerable women should be a top priority for Kirsten Gillibrand, but it’s clear that her only priority is herself and her next run for higher office. The voters of New York can be assured that I will always Put New York First!” concluded Farley.
