(Medford, NY) Assemblyman Edward Hennessey was on hand at Wave Avenue Park to help Medford Youth Athletic Association teams “play ball!” Taking advantage of the bright sunny day, Assemblyman Hennessey helped launch Opening Day by joining the four teams represented with a short march to the flag where a short flag ceremony took place. From there, it was time for the first pitch to warm up the young players for a brand new season.

“I love opening day. It brings back some of the best memories with my own sons and coaching a team or two. And many thanks to League organizers Carol Rosebery and Helen Lynch. They work hard to make it work for the kids here in Medford,” said Assemblyman Hennessey.
