LONG ISLAND, NY – On Wed, May 31st, 2017 the Historical Society of Islip Hamlet will host Jonathan Olly, assistant curator of the LI Museum and his presentation, “Midnight Rum: Long Island and Prohibition”. From NYC in the west to the coastal villages on the north and south forks, prohibition affected nearly everyone living on LI.

An Islip resident will also speak about his families involvement during this time. The program will be held at the Islip Public Library, 71 Monell Ave, 7-9 pm, free and open to the public; refreshments.
