FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Long Island, NY (December 22nd 2006) It was announced today that Long Island’s own Iridesense has signed a record deal with Long Island’s own Paradiddle Records. Earlier this year Iridesense appeared on the Paradiddle Records “Bob Dylan Uncovered” album, contributing their take on “One More Cup Of Coffee (The Valley Below)” and more recently they recorded a cover of “Do They Know It’s Christmas” for the Paradiddle Holiday Album. The band and label had such a great time recording these tracks together they decided to join forces and put together a brand new album of original Iridesense tracks, tentitively slated for a Spring 07 release.
ABOUT IRIDESENSE
http://www.iridesense.com
Iridesense is one of the area’s most well known and respected bands, and with good reason: they were recently a semi finalist in the Shift 2 Nissan Battle of the Bands, their music can currently be heard on Nickelodeon in the shows Zoe 101 (featuring Jaime Lynn Spears – sister to Britney) and Drake & Josh and will be featured on next years roster of MTV shows such as Pimp My Ride, Room Raiders, NEXT and more! They also recently signed licensing deals with the Pump Audio and Song and Film agencies, and will be hitting the small and big screen much more in 07′ They’re currently in pre production on our new CD to be released on Paradiddle Records, their third full length to be released in the Spring (2007). Their 1997 release “Cool Dream Tomorrow” on Rock Diva records, and 2003 release “Iridesense” on LLJ Records were well recieved by both critics and fans, and this new album will surely be no exception. This past year (2006) was a busy one for the band with regular dates in NYC, and all over Long Island including their monthly songwriter series at The Conklin Barn and headlining shows at the outdoor Chapin Rainbow Theatre in Huntington, Long Island. They also played a performance for the nationwide Verizon FiOs Festival (which had a corresponding web video contest online for the song “Gasoline”). The band was a featured performer for Fleet Week at Central Park Summerstage in NYC, and their most recent history has brought them several TV and radio appearances in support of their Summer-Fall (2006) east coast tour including a taping of an episode of the MTV show “Boiling Points”. They were also chosen as a Sponsored band by Sam Ash Music Stores. In (2004) they played for 13,000 sports fans as between period entertainment at a New York Islanders NHL game, then played a sold out engagement with Something Corporate and another with Gin Blossoms. They were also semi finalists (top 20 out of 1000’s of entries nationwide) in the National “Be A Radio Star” Competition where they recieved airplay in rotation at Z100 radio in NY in addition to a nationally broadcast radio interview with Elvis Duran from the Z Morning Zoo and Actress Amanda Bynes. They were prominently displayed on Newsday.com’s Impulse nightlife section as the subject of a skit with the comedy series The Slack Pack, and finished a LIVE DVD EPK concert video at Streamring Networks of their hit song “Gasoline”.
ABOUT PARADIDDLE RECORDS
http://www.paradiddlerecords.com
Formed by Bill Herman and Tom Crawford, Paradiddle Records was forged on a lifelong love of discovering new and exciting music. Our goal is to bring this joy of discovery to a broader audience. In addition to finding exciting new songwriters and musicians to showcase to the world, another one of our goals is to develop projects that reach a very specific audience – projects that might not find an outlet elsewhere. As a Long Island based company we are particularly proud to be able to showcase some of the Island’s outstanding talent. However, when considering a new artist or our next project we never consider locale, genre, style or marketability. We only ask ourselves one question. Is this quality music that deserves to be heard? Here at Paradiddle Records we are always looking for new voices and new visions. Join us for a musical journey through uncharted waters.
