Brings Smart Energy Solutions To Long Island Communities
Uniondale, NY—August 30, 2006—Long Island’s autumn season is just around the corner and many Island communities will celebrate the change of season with street fairs and festivals. Representatives from the Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) will be on hand at many of these events to remind Long Islanders that when used efficiently electricity saves energy, saves money and protects the environment.
As part of LIPA’s ongoing public outreach, LIPA ‘s electric conservation and information booth will be available this fall at a number of upcoming community events. LIPA representatives will answer questions and distribute literature on ways to reduce electric use and lower electric bills. As customers begin work on home improvement projects, LIPA is ready to work with them and help make Long Island homes as energy efficient as possible.
“LIPA continues to work tirelessly to insure that Long Island will have the electricity it needs for the years ahead,†said LIPA Chairman Richard M. Kessel. “However, LIPA cannot accomplish this effort alone. The efficient use of electricity by Long Islanders will play a major role in the solution. LIPA welcomes the opportunity to take part in local community events and to inform consumers about the numerous energy solutions that LIPA offers that can help them save energy and money.â€
