Mangano Joins Mayor Murray in Honoring Domanico, McCabe, and Knab at BIANCO Installation Dinner

(New Hyde Park, NY)  Rockville Centre Mayor Francis Murray was joined by Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano in honoring Thomas Domanico, Dennis McCabe, and Douglas Knab at the 60th Annual Dinner and Installation of Officers of BIANCO (Building Inspectors Association of Nassau County).

“I thank BIANCO for inviting me to join them in honoring these individuals who have embodied the mission of BIANCO to encourage professionalism throughout all aspects of the building industry, including the enforcement of laws,” said Mayor Murray.

Dennis McCabe has proudly served the public for more than three decades.  As NYSBOC (New York State Building Officials Conference) President, he provided the first set of NYS Family of Codes for all Code Enforcement Officers within the State of New York.  He also exhibited his commitment to the environment as the NYSBOC’s first Green Committee Chairman, after having served as ICC (International Code Council) Green Committee Vice Chairman and leading the way for the International Green Code Adoption.  In addition, McCabe is an honorary member or BIANCO.

Thomas Domanico serves, with distinction, as the Deputy Superintendent of Building Department and Secretary to the Planning Board for the Village of Rockville Centre, and is a former member of the Village of Rockville Centre Architectural Design Consultants.  IN addition, Thomas Domanico has owned and operated Thomas P. Domanico Architect since 1990.  Mr. Domanico is currently a member if the Board of Directors of BIANCO.

Douglas Knab serves, with distinction, as a Town of Hempstead Building Department Building Inspector and Code Enforcement Officer.  He has also served in the Carpentry Department of the Town of Hempstead Parks and Recreation Department.   Knab has been a member of both the NYSBOC and BIANCO since 2001.

In addition, BIANCO President James Gilhooly was presented with a 60th Anniversary Citation by Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano.

Other honorees included Dan Casella, Village of Rockville Centre; Drew Lawrence, Village of Sea Cliff; 1st VP Ed Cusato, NYS Building Officials, (NYSBOC); Deputy Commissioner Rita Fisher, (TOH Building Department for Commissioner John Rottkamp); Historian Mark Schwarz NYS Building Officials, (NYSBOC); and Commissioner Scott Kemins, (City of Long Beach) who were presented with the Hurricane Sandy Award for Outstanding Community Efforts.
