(Long Island, NY) North Fork based, commercial aerial and fine art photographer, Alex Ferrone, has opened a new Photography Gallery on the Main Road in Cutchogue. The Gallery, as the only fine art photography gallery on the North Fork, kicks off the 2013 exhibition season with an opening reception Saturday, April 27th with wines poured by Waters Crest Winery. The inaugural exhibit will feature limited edition works from Ferrone’s Aerial Observations – Part B series. Ferrone plans to exhibit other local, regional, and national fine art photographers as well throughout the year including Alex Vignoli, Jim Sabiston, and Dave Burns.
Recipient of Dan’s Papers 2012 Best of the Best North Fork Photographer and Artist Awards, Ferrone also has a new photography Studio and custom framing operation nearing completion and will offer commercial product photography, aerial and portrait photography, and interior/exterior real estate photography.
The Gallery is in an historic building (circa 1820 built by Henry Wickham) that was previously owned by the Grathwohl family for many years. Ferrone and Richard Abatelli of Abatelli Realty renovated the space; changed the exterior with a new, fresh custom blue; and have transformed the building and property from office space to an intimate Gallery and Studio space with new curb appeal. Plans for an additional photography gallery space in an outbuilding on the property are slated for the summer with the expansion to be ready in the fall.

Ferrone has many ties to the East End from her ten plus years of aerial photography clientele, to contacts through a number of organizations for which she has volunteered including East End Arts, the North Fork Chamber of Commerce, and WPPB Peconic Public Broadcasting. Her artistic and business organization memberships include National Association of Women Artists, East End Photographers Group, East End Arts, Mattituck, Riverhead, and North Fork Chambers of Commerce, and East End Women’s Network.
Ferrone has had solo photography exhibitions on the North Fork and in Florence, Italy; and, has shown in numerous group gallery and museum exhibits on the Island, regionally, and in Italy. Her work has been featured on WLIW TV and DigiChannel broadband, and, has been published in magazines and periodicals locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally including Vanity Fair Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, New York Post, and the Robb Report.
