(Long Island, NY) With everything from spicy fried chicken to gluten-free graham crackers and designer marshmallows, more than 250 food-makers and food-lovers celebrated the Entrepreneur Space’s fourth birthday party on February 3, 2015.
The theme was “Books & Cooks,” and 27 vendors provided samples of their products while four authors — Andrea Lynn of Queens: A Culinary Passport; Adrienne Onofri of Walking Queens; Meg Cotner of the Food Lovers’ Guide to Queens; and Vivian Carter of Rockaway Beach — sold and signed copies of their borough-based tomes. Plus, lead sponsor Oscar provided information on health-insurance plans in anticipation of ObamaCare’s February 15 filing deadline.

Operated by the Queens Economic Development Corporation, the “E-Space” is a food-and-business incubator with a fully equipped commercial kitchen, workstations, and classrooms that entrepreneurs can rent at below-market rates as they build their businesses. A recent survey determined that the E-Space, which is located in Long Island City, has helped more than 450 small businesses, generated $5 million in revenue, and created more than 100 jobs since opening in 2011.
