Wantagh Scout Restored Memorial in Massapequa’s Anchor Park
(Long Island, NY ) Senator John E. Brooks, on November 12, 2017, attended the dedication of a refurbished memorial in Anchor Park, Massapequa, honoring Nassau County P.D. Police Officer Gary R. Farley, who gave his life in the line of duty on March 7, 1993.

The memorial was restored and rebuilt as an Eagle Scout project by Peter M. Rowan, the son of another police officer, Detective Christopher Rowan of the Nassau County Police Department. Scout Peter Rowan belongs to Boy Scout Troop # 656, in Wantagh, headed by Scout Master Robert Treiland.
John E. Brooks is the New York State Senator for the 8th District, representing portions of Nassau and Suffolk Counties along the South Shore of Long Island.
