(Huntington, NY) The Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce Networking Breakfast series will take place on Tuesday, April 23 at the Huntington Yacht Club (95 East Shore Road in Huntington), from 7:30 to 10 a.m. The Keynote Speaker will be Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone who will present the “State of Suffolk County” and its impact on the Town of Huntington.
Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone began his term as County Executive on January 1, 2012. As Suffolk County Executive, Bellone is focusing on “Quality of Life” issues. His commitment is to reduce Suffolk’s debt, improve the business climate within Suffolk County and keep low taxes. He is incentivizing business to move to Suffolk County hoping to keep young people here with the creation of new jobs and housing. He also is focused on environmental and community revitalization initiatives.
Previous to serving as County Executive, Bellone served as Babylon Town Supervisor where he became known for his many accomplishments including maintaining Babylon in an excellent fiscal standing during the recession and reducing the town’s debt every year he was in office. He also attracted new business to the area by eliminating difficult red tape and delivered a $4.3 million tax cut to his residents.
As an Army veteran, Bellone takes prides in the military and has been very active with programs like the “Wounded Warrior Project” and “Run for the Warriors.” He has helped revitalize communities with programs such “Wyandanch Rising” and attacked slumlords with his Quality of Life Taskforce. Bellone has been both innovative and successful in his efforts, and is bringing that same success to Suffolk County as County Executive.
This breakfast is part of the Huntington Chamber Networking Breakfast Series, a program which provides value for membership and includes extended networking to meet, mingle and build contacts with Huntington business and community leaders.
