SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY LIBERTARIAN PARTY ANNOUNCES SLATE OF CANDIDATES TO TAKE ON THREE-TERM INCUMBENTS
(Suffolk County, NY) The Suffolk County Libertarian Party, in their meeting of February 19, 2013, selected a slate of candidates to go up against three time incumbents vying for a fourth term by filing a lawsuit to overturn term limits for the offices of DA, Sheriff and County Clerk. Apparently the Republican and Democrat parties are cross-endorsing the incumbents according to the article from SaveHuntington.com titled “The Gang of Three and the Banana Republic”.
The slate of Libertarian Candidates includes Michael Houze for Suffolk County Sheriff, Chris Garvey for Suffolk County DA and Audrey Capozzi for Suffolk County Clerk.
Michael Houze, father of two boys, was born in Greenberg, Indiana and studied Political Science at Indiana University. He moved to Long Island in 2005 and moved to South Huntington in 2006. He has been a member of the Libertarian Party since 1993 where he has served as Chair, Vice Chair and Secretary. He is a certified NRA Firearms instructor from 1988 to present.
Chris Garvey, graduate of Columbia University and Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law is a Patent Attorney for Nolte, Nolte & Hunter in Roslyn, NY. Mr. Garvey was the Libertarian Candidate for Suffolk County DA in 2009, Attorney General in 2006, and Governor in 1998 and was Conservative Candidates for Supreme Court Justice in Bronx, NY from 2001-2003. He is also a U.S. Merchant Marine Officer and Sailing Instructor.
Audrey Capozzi, from Bellport, NY, has served as Vice Chair and Treasure of the NY State Libertarian Party for the past 20 years and has been a National Voice for the LP serving on numerous committees as well as an organizer of the State Conventions.
