News: Brooklyn Couple Targeted in Attack
(Long Island, N.Y.) New information has come in the case of the shooting that targeted a Brooklyn couple on Tuesday night. The couple was gunned down by multiple attackers along a family street in Boonton, New Jersey. The twenty-seven-year-old wife was killed and the twenty-six-year-old husband has been treated for several gunshot wounds; the couple’s child was unharmed.
Since news of this unfathomable attack, police and authorities on the case have discovered that the wounded husband and father had been previously robbed at gunpoint. The incident occurred six months ago in a Boston parking lot and reports stated that the assailant managed to steal his wallet. The location was outside his apartment near Harvard University, and some sources stated that the crime is typically unusual for such an area. Nonetheless, investigators are looking into any and all possible connections to the shooting.
It is uncertain as to whether the twenty-six-year-old wounded husband and father was a student at Harvard University. Some reports stated that he was pursuing his doctorate degree in architecture and engineering and had graduated Colombia University with honors. However, other sources claimed that there had been no records of his attendance at either institution.
According to reports, his sister had claimed that he was to begin classes in the near future and was returning to Boston the day after the shooting. Though the initial report of the incident allowed for the possibility of a hate crime, police and authorities on the case now believe that the couple had been targeted. Investigators declared that there is no danger at large to the general public.
The area of Boonton has a large Pakistani Muslim community and there have been no known claims of racial crimes. The deceased had been wearing distinctive Pakistani attire at the time of the shooting, but evidence has suggested that she may have been targeted for other reasons. Reports stated that the attackers did not ask for money and there is currently no known motive for the crime.
According to sources, the couple’s vehicle had been towed Wednesday morning by police and authorities on the case.
