(Long Island, N.Y.) Gurney’s Spa Director Candice Giordano Monte invited Long Island elite and press to celebrate the third annual Girl’s Night Out to benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The event took place on Friday October 14th from 7 to 10pm. Long Islanders came out to give their support for this worthwhile charity. The evening included cocktails and complimentary wine, hors d’oeuvres, psychic readings, a goodie-filled gift bag and spa pampering. There was a performance by DJ Serg and New Life Crisis.
This year I had to opportunity to talk to Celebrity Hair Stylist Mark Zowine, Real Estate Agent Kathleen Dransfield from Saunders.com and Hampton Sun Care Founder Salvatore Paizzolla who was one of the sponsors for this year’s annual event.

Emmy award-winning documentary producer, director, and writer Dean Love has received three Emmys, two New York Film Festival Awards, eight Telly Awards, a Cine Golden Eagle Award, and a Videographers Award of Excellence.
Dean Love Films LLC just finished producing, directing and writing a one hour special with National Geographic TV for The National Geographic Channel. His programs have aired on PBS, The Discovery Channel, TLC, Animal Planet, RLTV and National Geographic among others in the US. Dean worked for Walter Cronkite for two years and produced the Emmy Award winning “Life on Mars?” hosted by John Lithgow. He produced the first 13 hours of “The FBI Files”. He was Executive Producer of “Wine 101” with David Hyde Pierce. His shows have been sold and distributed to major countries throughout the globe. Mr. Love recently produced and wrote a one hour documentary entitled ‘The Guardians of Angkor’ for National Geographic Television concerning the minefields in Cambodia. More recently he was Executive Producer of a series of 90 half hours called “The Art of Living” for Retirement Living TV as well as a 13 part hour long series called “What’s Next?” also for RLTV. Dean also returned to work with Walter Cronkite again for a series of commentaries with Walter and a one hour special on Walter’s life. He just produced a new special for National Geographic TV on Queen Elizabeth I called: “The Secrets of the Virgin Queen”.

On October 22nd, 2011 Restaurant and Cabaret Rasputin in Coney Island, Brooklyn celebrated twenty years of excellence in dining and entertainment.

Rasputin is named after a Russian historical figure whose life is enshrouded in myths and mystery.

Michael Musto is an American columnist and journalist for the The Village Voice. Mr. Musto was born and raised in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn to an Italian-American family. He attended Columbia University and graduated in 1976. While attending the University he was a theater critic for the Columbia Spectator. He is the author of Downtown and Manhattan on the Rocks as well as a compilation of selected columns published as La Dolce Musto. His next collection, “Fork on the Left, Knife in the Back”, was recently published in September on Vantage Point Books. “Michael Musto is a genius,” Joan Rivers is quoted as saying on the cover.
