(Long Island, NY) On Tuesday, October 9th fashionistas, models and celebrities attended the Launch Party for Fashion Designer Esther Nash’s new collection of fashion and jewelry at Manhattan’s trendy CAIN Night Club.
CAIN nightclub on 27th Street and the West Side is known for it’s dramatic African Safari decor. The zebra skin-topped bar–and by extension, the South African-Sexy inspired club–is for the diva who adores wearing glamorous fur and the debonair gentleman who love them. Armani suits mingle with Manolo Blahnik stilettos while the DJ keeps the house rocking.
Fashion Designer Esther Nash is a woman of many talents. Ms. Nash known primarily as a designer is also a dancer, gymnast, actress, model and skilled businessperson. Nash created the Baby Doll and Sugar Daddy Line of resort, swim and club wear to fill the high demand niche of active wear. Her fashion brand is fundamental to the dynamic needs of the new millennium fashionista. As a child Esther utilized her artistic expression by wearing unique ensembles every day. “I saw myself as a show and tell. The students were my audience and my clothing was my creation. I was always on display. I dressed in all beaded fabric, a kimono, cowboy boots, followed by authentic wooden Dutch clogs and so on.” During her adolescence her ability to draw and create was quite evident receiving scholarships to the National Academy of Design and the Art Students League. Esther received a scholarship in the summer arts program for portfolio completion and two summers in a row at Cooper Union. Esther was also fortunate to be selected to receive scholarships to attend art classes at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and at the Brooklyn Museum of Art.

Esther’s mother, a strong influence in her formative years, encouraged Esther to pursue her dreams. On a daily basis Esther and her mother would visit the Museum of Modern Art. Her mother introduced her to the theater, opera, the ballet, musicals, Broadway shows, off Broadway plays, comedy showcases, Symphony, and Folk music. Esther attended Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall. In the summers she attended the films in Bryant Park, Shakespeare in Central Park, concerts at the South Street Seaport and Prospect Park and lots of classic films all year round.
Esther reveals “My mother also gave me the opportunity to travel with her to Europe, the Middle East, South America and Central America. She gave me room and space to grow as an individual and to develop my own sense of style and taste.”
At age eighteen with the help of funds earned from modeling in hair ads, she used her entrepreneurial skills and decided to launch her first boutique “Baby Doll” for women. At only nineteen, she opened her second boutique, “Sugar Daddy” for men. With the assistance of family and friends she renovated her stores with a saw, a hammer, and thirteen gallons of paint. She created a different kind of innovative, exciting, energizing shopping experience. Esther adds “My friends assisted me and I worked about sixteen hours a day to complete each one. Each boutique was a unique, original creation reflecting a different mood and style.” Esther’s ambition prevailed and was accepted in every college that she applied, including the School of Visual Arts, Parsons, Pratt, Cooper Union and Road Island School of Design.
She finally decided to enroll in The Fashion Institute of Technology where she majored in fashion design earning her prestigious degree. At the age of twenty-one she opened her third boutique in Manhattan’s chic Chelsea neighborhood. All three trendy boutiques featured her glamorous designs as well as retro wear for men and women.
When asked if she is experienced, she usually replies, “Yes, I have had nineteen years experience in the fashion and art industry” I started at age five making jewelry and selling in front of my mother’s Pub in the summer’s and have been continuing to climb the ladder; I hope to see the top soon. I am and want to continue to be a role model for young people.”
She continues to invent, create and inspire. At the moment her jewelry line is her passion. Esther designs important investment quality original pieces that take your wardrobe from the corporate workplace to a night out on the town in the hippest clubs from Miami to Manhattan. Esther Nash’s jewelry will enable you to Sparkle and Shine like the Superstar that you are! Now you will be seen and be remembered in your Esther Nash Design.
