(Long Island, N.Y.) Director Brian DeCicco premiered a brand new trailer and clips of his latest independent film, “Clive Unger’s Madame X” to a select group of film buffs, actors, movie enthusiasts and members of the press at Gizzi’s Cafe in Greenwich Village.
The synopsis of the film involves Clive Unger, a failing artist and sculptor who decides to take in an exhibit of John Singer Sergeant’s Madame X at a local art museum when suddenly he is drawn to Jacob Van Walscappelle’s Vase of Flowers. From afar this painting exhibits lavish, vibrant flowers in a vase. But up close, it shows an unsightly view of decaying flowers infested with bugs and flies. This ambiguous facade strikingly parallels with Clive himself. Not a single soul, not even his fellow Lady Head Vase enthusiast and antique shop owner, Gloria Glass would ever possibly consider Clive’s next “artistic” endeavor.
Leading an ordinary mundane existence in an ordinary small town, Gloria Glass, an elderly antique boutique shop proprietor, adores her collection of antique Lady Head Vases. She prides in their undying beauty, an enviable trait Gloria no longer sees in the mirror.
Gloria’s usual day takes a spin when she discovers an exquisite antique cabinet by the dumpster with a missing key. While she patiently and anxiously waits for the locksmith in her antique boutique, her day begins to unfold when her fellow Lady Head Vase enthusiast and failing artist, Clive Unger envisions his cabinet in Gloria’s antique shop. Gloria and all those who are inquisitively perplexed by its secrets come dangerously close to the hidden truth about Clive, as he is determined to maintain the cabinet’s secrets.
The film stars Horror actresses Debbie D and Tina Krause.
Horror actress and scream queen Debbie started her show business career mainly as a singer and songwriter, but always dabbled in acting and modeling. During her early years studying music she was the lead singer for many bands touring up and down the east coast. Debbie D made her first record called “I Want You In My Life” which was a top seller in many countries around the world.
Striking an interest in the music industry Billboard magazine reviewed her talents as “having a sweet voice.” Debbie D continues to write songs and is always interested in collaborating with other artists.
While having her pictures taken for her record cover, Photographer Bill Arthur was fascinated with her appearance and put her photo in a trade model magazine. Falcon Video, Ltd. of New York responded to her photo and inquired if she would appear in their next featured horror film. This business venture for Debbie resulted in three more film productions working with Falcon Video, Ltd as a horror actress. She has since made films and videos with other film companies. W.A.V.E. Productions also has produced Debbie D in several of their horror productions. Her striking beauty and her willingness to attempt almost any role is a great attribute to her talents. Debbie D also has her own line of videos produced through New Faces Productions, which also produces her custom video work.

Although Actress Tina Krause is best known for her roles in front of the camera as a horror actress and scream Queen, she is now working behind the lens as a screenwriter, producer, director, and cinematographer. Her new film “Limbo” is currently in the works.
To her avid fans she is a ‘B Movie Queen’ and an ‘Indie Horror Queen.’ The majority of her film work has been with shoestring-budget independent producers of horror films and erotic spoofs. In a recent interview at Horror Society, she revealed that she was “discovered” at Chiller Theatre and has been acting in horror flicks “ever since”. Her first Horror feature was “Sorority Slaughter” in 1994. By the time she reached thirty years old she had become a “huge fan favorite.”
Tina has appeared in over 78 independent horror films, direct-to-video features, including “Penny Dreadful,” “The Drunken Dead Guy,” “The Thirsting,” “Zombiegeddon” and “Play Dead.”
At the event I also had the chance to interview actor, wrestler and stunt double Armond Cescare from the film “The Wrestler,” starring actor Mickey Rourke.
In a recent interview Mr. Cescare revealed that he started wrestling when he was 33, fifteen years ago, in 1993. “I had started off in football and was well-traveled. Had sailed across the Caribbean and was always looking for new adventures. I was approached by guys looking for wrestlers and met Johnny Rodz. I was older, but I was still a kid to them and at first I didn’t know what to expect. The wrestlers on TV, you know, all those guys were monsters. But I learned they all don’t look like that. And I thought why not give it a shot? I’ve been given this great opportunity and at worst I’ll be in great shape. Johnny became my trainer with his core guys. He was in the ring right there with us. I was there three days a week for a year and a half. That was my gym.”
At the moment Armond Cescare is working on several projects and is developing his own website. You can reach him by facebook/Armond Cescare.

This weekend Hamptonites enjoyed a BB Jewels Gramercy Park Trunk Show at Jill Lynn & Co in Southampton to benefit Southampton Hospital. The event also included a jewelry designer showcase to celebrate the 12th year anniversary of Jill Lynn & Co.
“Hamptons” Jewelry Designer Jill Lynn Brody has been designing and creating custom designs and handcrafting jewelry for twelve years. Jill has acquired a respected degree in Graphic Design and Computer Art and has taught both Jewelry Design and Metal at the Amagansett School of Applied Arts in eastern Long Island. She is also a GIA (Gemological Institute of America) Diamonds Graduate and continues to pursue her goal of attaining a degree as a GIA Graduate Gemologist.
Jill was raised in eastern Long Island and always exhibited a passion for art and jewelry. She found herself experimenting with different color combinations, techniques and designs. At age nineteen she was designing her own bead work jewelry and displaying her collection at artisan fairs throughout Long Island including the East End. As her talents became perfected she began designing fabulous jewels with precious, semi-precious and natural gemstones to create exquisite jewelry pieces.
Also on display were designer Berry Brown’s jewelry pieces. BB Jewels Gramercy Park was established in 2005 as a jewelry design business inspired by jewelry designer Berry Brown’s love of old world accessories. Her jewelry line’s mission is to design new treasures that are inspired by beautiful antique creations.
“It is so enjoyable to be creative and re-invent old beautiful things, give them a modern feel, and bring them to life again.” reveals Berry.
After pursuing a career in journalism, Berry decided to launch BB Jewels. At a very young age Berry was passionate about learning more about antique jewelry and crafts. Her paternal grandparents collected an eclectic range of jewelry. Her mother and grandmother both have a knack for crafts and growing up Berry became accustomed to being surrounded by homemade textiles, baskets, clothes, curtains, pillows, and a wide array of antique treasures. Today, Ms. Brown’s interest in jewelry and home accessories has expanded into a prosperous business.
“My larger passion for people and their stories, my love of travel and exploration, and my overall appreciation for beautiful design and adornment inspire me every day in my work,” reveals Ms. Brown.

After a perfect day of sunbathing, boating and dipping in the Hampton waterways, Bridgehamptonites enjoyed a glamorous elegant evening under the stars at the 15th Annual Heart of the Hamptons Ball.
Each year, The Heart of the Hamptons is one of the most anticipated social events of the summer season. It is an elegant and festive event focused on raising dollars for the mission of the American Heart Association. The event is always a diverse representation of the corporate, medical and social communities from Long Island, the Hamptons and Manhattan. Contributors and supporters enjoy the beautiful setting of the Hamptons while eating delicious heart healthy foods, drinking delightful local wines and mixing with celebrities.
As always the event succeeded in one of the best social gatherings of the summer with a lavish cocktail hour, dinner and dancing. The event honored Todd K. Rosengart, MD., Professor and Chairman, Dept. of Surgery, Chief, Div. of Cardiothoracic Surgery, SUNY Stony Brook School of Medicine, Ambassador Charles A. Gargano Former Chair and CEO, Empire State Development, V. Chair Port Authority NY & NJ and TV Personality Star Jones who received the “Humanitarian with Heart” Award.
Ms. Jones has become more than just a household name and famous TV Personality. We all know her best for the sharp witted comments she expressed on her six year co-hosting engagement on ABC’s “The View.” After undergoing open heart surgery in 2010, Jones now directs much of her philanthropic and charitable work to heart health including competing on NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice on behalf of the American Heart Association.
After receiving her award at the event Ms. Jones revealed to the audience “I had a genetic abnormality which a number of African Americans do have and I had a malfunctioning valve. I could not understand why this was happening to me. I was hitting the gym regularly and practicing portion control in my diet and I was walking instead of riding and you know I never met a driver I did not like, so that’s a deep thing for me. Now I was about to meet the face of heart disease. I couldn’t understand it that is an old white dude’s disease not a young black women’s.”
Heart Of The Hamptons Ball
Like Ms. Jones’ genetic abnormality many children are born with heart defects.
Our children represent the greatest hope for a healthy future and one of our greatest areas of need. Open Your Heart is an opportunity in the Heart Ball where all Americans can make a donation to help their children and future generations.
Over 36,000 infants are born every year with a heart defect. More than 9 million children overweight. One in every 4,000 babies has a stroke. These stats drive both our sense of urgency and our hope. With the support of all Americans help we can change these statistics.
The American Heart Association’s mission is to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. That single purpose drives all they do.
Support and donate to www.heart.org.
