(Long Island, NY) Suffolk County Legislator Bill Lindsay III recently presented fourteen 5th grade students with the Suffolk County Legislature’s Character Excellence Award at their perspective graduation ceremonies. The Suffolk County Legislature’s Character Excellence Award is given annually to students who best represent their school, who take initiative in helping their peers succeed, and who demonstrate integrity, accountability, character, and leadership.

“As the father of 2 young students I know how much is demanded of all of our graduates and as leaders we must take time to recognize our student’s efforts and achievements,” said Legislator Bill Lindsay III. “These 14 students stood out for their kindness, compassion, and their innate civic mindfulness within our community. Congratulations to all of the graduates and best of luck as you enter Middle School.”

All Elementary Schools in the 8th Legislative District were notified, however not all participated.

Bill represents the 8th legislative district which consists of Bayport, Blue Point, Bohemia, Holbrook, Holtsville, Oakdale, Sayville, West Sayville and parts of North Patchogue.
