The Friends of the IDF NY Real Estate Division Golf Outing September 9, 2013, Glen Oaks Country Club
(New York, NY) Over 150 of New York’s prestigious real estate professionals will come together for a day of golfing on Monday, September 9, 2013, for the Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF) NY Real Estate Division Golf Outing. The event, which will take place at Glen Oaks Country Club in Old Westbury, will begin with golf in the morning and will conclude with a dinner reception featuring three IDF soldiers.
The Co-Chairs of the event are Joel Seiden, Jeffrey Mann and Ofer Yardeni, Chairman of the FIDF NY Real Estate Division.

“The FIDF plays a very important role in supporting the soldiers of Israel,” said Ofer Yardeni. “The Real Estate Division of the FIDF has built up a strong base of participation over the last few years and is committed to creating impactful events for the organization. The turnout expected is a sign that the real estate industry in New York City is passionate about improving the lives of the Israeli soldiers.”
In addition to the golf outing, this year’s event will also include a “Beauty Boot Camp”. Chaired by Shari Yardeni, the Beauty Boot Camp will be held at Truth + Beauty Salon in Roslyn Heights and will serve as an alternative outing for non-golfing supporters. Attendees of the Beauty Boot Camp will participate in a host of activities at the spa alongside an active duty soldier and will have the option to join cocktails and dinner at the FIDF NY Real Estate Division Golf Outing.
Active duty IDF soldiers, who traveled to New York from Israel, will attend the event and share their stories with FIDF supporters. The soldiers will include Lieutenant Danielle, a Communications Officer in Battalion 402, and Corporal Max, a soldier in Golani, who is currently in the Golani Commanders Course. Cpl. Max, originally from Great Neck, NY, is a Lone Soldier who made Aliyah (moved to Israel) to join the IDF. Also participating in the event will be FIDF IMPACT! Scholarship recipient Sharon who served as a combat soldier in the Gaza Strip watching over the border. She participated in Operation Cast Lead, the Gaza Strip Operation, from December 2008-January 2009. She is in her second year of studying education in Beit-Berel College, with a specialization in English.
“It is a pleasure to work on such an inspiring event that will have over 150 participants,” said event Co-Chair Jeffrey Mann. “We look forward to an incredible Golf Outing that will raise funds to support Israel’s soldiers.”
The FIDF NY Real Estate Division was created in 2006 by a group of successful business and philanthropic leaders who were passionate about uniting members of the real estate community in support of Israel’s soldiers. The division has supported several construction projects including a wellbeing center at Revaya Base for Battalion 71 of the 188th Brigade, as well as other FIDF wellbeing programs to benefit the soldiers, and is an integral part of FIDF’s Tri-State Region.
This event is one of many upcoming events for the Long Island Chapter. The Friends of the IDF Long Island Chapter’s 8th annual IDF Appreciation Evening will take place on Thursday, November 14th.
