(Long Island, NY) Eastern Long Island Hospital (ELIH) celebrates 2013 National Nurses Week Monday May 6th through Friday May 12th by acknowledging the high quality care and innovation of the exceptional nursing staff.
“Using their knowledge and unique skill set, nurses at Eastern Long Island Hospital work their hardest to improve patient outcomes with quality care,” says Paul J. Since May 6, 1996 National Nurses has begun each year on May 6th and ends on May 12th Florence Nightingale’s birthday, the renowned nurse known for her innovation. Nurses have the largest work force in health care, about 3.1 million, and are growing faster than all other occupants – American Nurses Association (ANA). This week be sure to say thanks to a special nurse for making a difference in the lives of others.
