This fundraising report demonstrates that Senator Zeldin is on pace to have the financial support necessary to win. With 575 unique donors, 86 percent of whom are from Long Island and most from his Congressional District, Senator Zeldin has the grassroots support necessary to mount a winning campaign on behalf of Long Island taxpayers. Senator Zeldin has already received the unanimous public support of all of the state, county and town Republican Party and Conservative Party Chairmen as well as 60 local elected officials from the First Congressional District.
“Senator Zeldin entered the race and began fundraising on October 7th and we are on pace to have all the resources necessary to get out our message of stopping Obamacare, cutting taxes, reigning in wasteful government spending and creating jobs on Long Island,” said Chapin Fay, Zeldin for Congress Campaign Manager. “Senator Zeldin is the only candidate for the Republican nomination who grew up and went to grade school in this congressional district, has a history of local community service, selfless military service, and a record of cutting taxes and fighting for Long Island families in elected office. Most importantly, Senator Zeldin is the only candidate basing his campaign on integrity and honesty.”
“Senator Zeldin grew up and attended grade school in the First Congressional District and is now raising a family of his own here and is incredibly proud that over 85% of our donations have come from his Long Island community. That speaks volumes about the depth and breadth of support for Senator Zeldin’s campaign.”
“The voters in NY-01 will choose the military veteran and prosecutor, life-long district resident and distinguished Conservative Republican State Senator who has delivered on the many campaign promises that vaulted him into office in 2010,” concluded Fay. “The money raised sends a clear message that the voters want Lee to run and win this congressional seat. Long Islanders know that we can’t change Washington unless we change the people we send there.
