(Queens, NY) NYS Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. (D-Howard Beach), whose Senate District 15 includes most of the Rockaway peninsula, released the following statement:
I have tasted their beer and I agree. Congratulations to Marcus Burnett and Ethan Long of the Rockaway Brewing Company on being named the “Best Overall Queens Brewed Beer” by the Daily News. Marcus and Ethan have a great product and, while currently making their beer in Long Island City, hope to open a brewery in Rockaway someday.
A Rockaway site for a brewery would bring much needed local jobs to the peninsula and tie into the growing hipster culture in Rockaway. I believe it would be a unique destination for many who live in and visit Rockaway.
When I met with Marcus and Ethan, they relayed to me a very positive vision they saw for Rockaway, with a namesake brewery there. I wish Marcus and Ethan much future success.
