(Long Island, NY) Marking the end of WWI, Veterans Day has become a National Day of appreciation for America’s veterans. The American Airpower Museum at Republic Airport in Farmingdale, NY will honor the men and women who have served and continue to serve in our Armed Forces with an open house. No admission will be charged for the day.
Visitors can expect a flight demonstration by one of the American Airpower Museum’s fleet of operational WWII aircraft and have the opportunity to inspect a Sherman tank and other armored vehicles from the Museum of American Armor. Museum Volunteers will be on hand to offer tours of the planes and exhibits inside the hangar and out on the ramp. Visitors are advised to dress in warm clothing to be able to view flight and armor activity. Flights and armor demonstrations are on a weather permitting basis.
Complimentary coffee and donuts will be served.
The American Airpower Museum will be open from 10:30AM to 4PM .
Admission: Free for Veterans Day.
