(Long Island, NY) This Thursday March 31 at 1:30pm, the American Postal Workers Union will endorse Democratic candidate Anna Throne-Holst for Congress in New York’s 1st congressional district.
Support from the American Postal Workers Union follows endorsements from a number of other labor organizations including the New York State Council of Machinists, Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen, Heat and Frost Insulators Local 12, and the Southampton Town Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association. Anna has also been endorsed by Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, Rep. Steve Israel, former 1st District Congressman Tim Bishop and many others.
Anna Throne-Holst has a progressive record making a difference for working families. As Southampton Town Supervisor, she cleaned up the Republicans’ mismanagement of the town budget without raising taxes on middle class families and used the savings to invest in public schools, services for seniors, environmental protection efforts and clean energy technologies like solar power. As Director of the Bridgehampton Childcare Center, she launched a Head Start program and grew afterschool and academic support services as well as teen pregnancy and drug prevention programs for children in need.
