Opening Reception: Friday, September 25, 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
(Long Island, NY) Light Over Water, the Oyster Bay Historical Society’s fall exhibition, features the work of Kirk Larsen, whose paintings, watercolors, and drawings capture the boats, baymen, and yachts on the waters of Oyster Bay Harbor. The exhibition opens with a reception on Friday evening, September 25, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the Historical Society’s Angela Koenig Center at 20 Summit Street in Oyster Bay, and remains on view through December 23. The reception is free and open to the public.

An avid painter of people, portraits, still life, and animals, Kirk Larsen is most passionate about plein air landscapes and maritime subjects. “The greatest thing about a being an artist,” he says, “is that I have the joy of painting the beauty I behold.” As a sailor and racer of both classic and modern boats, he brings to his art a lifetime of experience out in nature and on the water.
