(Long Island, NY) “Although it’s promising that the Gov. has decided on a review of the Common Core learning standards, the Assembly Republican Conference has worked tirelessly with teachers and education stakeholders and have developed the Achieving Pupil Preparedness and Launching Excellence (APPLE) Plan that addresses the problems stemming from the Common Core system and sets New York’s schools on a path to success. I’m hopeful that the Governor will acknowledge the flaws inherent in the Common Core system and we can work towards a more promising future in the education of New York’s students.”
