Up to $90 million to ensure people with special needs get help they need
(Long Island, NY) “The cuts made to the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) during this year’s budget process were alarming,” Assemblyman Hennessey said. “We have a moral obligation to protect our most vulnerable citizens. This community and their families rely on the services provided by OPWDD.
“I joined my colleagues to push for the restoration of these funds, and I’m glad to see that the Governor signed this legislation into law. I know this news brings peace of mind to a lot of families who were worried sick that their loved ones would no longer be able to receive the help they need,” said Assemblyman Hennessey.
