(Long Island, NY) Assemblyman Chad Lupinacci (R,C,I-South Huntington) recently honored Walt Whitman High School students Gabrielle and Epiphany Ramirez for their efforts to launch a charity which collects and redistributes used eyeglasses.
“The dedicated effort of these two young ladies has made a tremendous impact in our community,” Lupinacci said. “Many have difficulty affording the rising costs of eye care. Gabrielle and Epiphany have taken it upon themselves to be the change in our community by giving the gift of improved vision to thousands,” said Lupinacci.

The young philanthropists were recently acknowledged for collecting and donating more than 1,000 eyeglass frames to needy families in and around the district. Gabrielle and Epiphany were able to begin Eye Partners Inspire after earning a $1,000 grant from the Women’s Fund of Long Island.
“As the holiday season nears, I cannot think of a more selfless and unique philanthropic initiative,” Lupinacci said. “These students are truly exemplary and set a tremendous example for all other young men and women to emulate.”
