(Long Island, NY) Assemblyman Michael Montesano (R,C,I-Glen Head) proudly supported passage of Assembly Bill 1193, which would offer protections to all medical providers, as well as those for the disabled community, and procedures to ensure that providers are guaranteed due process.
“Establishing protocol and requiring specific measures to be taken if extrapolation is used to determine whether or not a provider has received overpayments is critical and will be a huge help to healthcare providers and caretakers for disabled individuals throughout the state.
“Far too often the determination of whether a provider received overpayments is made by mere estimation. By taking a shot in the dark or bundling past results, many of these agencies feel significant negative impacts. I am proud to support passage of this long-overdue bill, and hope this is the year my Senate colleagues will join us in moving it forward,” said Montesano.
