(Long Island, NY) Assemblyman Michael Montesano (R,I,C-Glen Head) was, for the sixth consecutive year, named to the New York Farm Bureau’s “Circle of Friends.” Each year the Farm Bureau recognizes members of the New York Legislature who support family farms across the state.
“Assemblyman Montesano was chosen for his commitment to the hard-working farm families in New York. He has demonstrated an understanding for the importance of agriculture to the people of his legislative district, and how farming significantly impacts the economy of this great state,” said Dean Norton, President of New York Farm Bureau.
The Farm Bureau is the largest farm-advocacy organization in New York State. This award honors state legislators who have displayed a strong commitment to New York’s agriculture and the crucial role it plays in the future of the economy.
“It is an honor to be included in the Farm Bureau’s 2015 Circle of Friends,” said Montesano. “Agriculture is an important part of New York’s developing economy, and it is critical that we pass legislation that will help family farms thrive. I am proud to be recognized for my strong support for the Farm Bureau and our state’s agricultural advancements, and will continue to do all I can to support family farms in my district and across New York State.”
