A statement from Assemblyman Dean Murray (R,C,I – East Patchogue)
(Long Island, NY) “I am proud to announce that the Women’s Equality Agenda, championed by the Assembly Republican Conference, has officially become law. These laws provide long-awaited equality and protections for New York’s women by ensuring equal pay for equal work, protecting employees from workplace sexual harassment, ending discrimination against domestic violence victims, and banning pregnancy discrimination in the workplace.”
“Today’s victory certainly did not come without our fair share of obstacles. Assembly Democrats refused to bring these bills up separately for over two years. I’m glad we finally overcame Albany’s partisan politics to ensure that New York’s women will be treated fairly in the years to come.”
