(Long Island, NY) “With less than ten days to go in this year’s Legislative Session, we must take action to ease the concerns surrounding New York’s education system. Recently, seven members of the Board of Regents signed on to a letter highlighting the need to take a step back and take things in a new direction all together. In order to get things on the right track before session comes to an end, we must heed their call and delay the implementation of unproven reforms and start fresh.
“If we are serious about making progress for our students and teachers, then we must move forward with proposals that will revamp the evaluation system by gathering real input from stakeholders and allowing the Board of Regents to create a new process, rather than political leaders.”
Assemblyman Ra represents the 19th Assembly District.
