No one could have anticipated the tremendous damage a storm in October would bring to Nassau County. Luckily, NCBA could count on Peter Levy to help organize important free legal information clinics at locations where the help was needed most. At the time, residents had no power, roads were impassable, and homes were damaged. With Levy’s leadership, pro bono attorneys were brought in to staff free legal consultation clinics in Freeport, East Rockaway, and two in Long Beach. As a result, dozens of residents received timely advice to help them get through the crisis. Help and information were made available regarding insurance claims, FEMA assistance, debt deferral, bankruptcy options, consumer protection and help in dealing with lenders to avoid foreclosure. This is the second time Levy has received the President’s Award for outstanding service to the Bar Association.
In private practice for over 20 years, Peter Levy is based in Jericho where concentrates in the areas of commercial litigation, personal injury, real estate, wills and estates.
