Once the home was ventilated, Fahriye Ugan, 54, was found dead and her husband, Erdem Gulay, 41, was found with stab wounds and transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Detectives believe Gulay’s wounds were self-inflicted. Fahriye Ugan’s wounds do not appear to have been self-inflicted. An autopsy will be performed by the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner to determine Ugan’s cause of death.
The investigation is continuing and detectives are asking anyone with information on this incident to call Homicide Squad detectives at 631-852-6392.
