(Long Island, NY) Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are investigating a single-car crash that killed two men and seriously injured another in Fort Salonga on Tuesday, February 2.
Leland Acampora was driving a Hyundai Sonata westbound on Fort Salonga Road, near Makamah Road, when he apparently lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a tree at approximately 4:30 a.m.

Acampora 26, of Hauppauge, and Woody Zalman, 26, of Commack, who was seated in the rear seat, were pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.
Front seat passenger, Paul Weingart 26, of East Northport, was airlifted via Suffolk County Police helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was listed in serious condition.
The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information about this crash is asked to call the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
