(Long Island, NY) Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are investigating a hit and run crash which seriously injured a woman in Huntington Station on Wednesday, March 29.
Diana Carvelli, 69, of Northport, was driving her 2012 Jeep westbound on Jericho Turnpike, east of Depot Road, at approximately 4:30 p.m. when a pickup truck traveling eastbound on Jericho Turnpike collided with her vehicle.

Carvelli was initially transported to Huntington Hospital and later transferred to North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset where she was admitted and being treated for a serious injury.
The driver of the pickup fled eastbound on Jericho Turnpike and did not stop at the scene of the crash. Detectives believe the truck may have damage on the driver’s side and the driver’s side mirror may be missing.
