(Long Island, NY) The First Precinct reports the details of an arrest for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property that occurred on Monday, March 07, 2016 at 4:52 am in Baldwin.
According to police, 911 received a call for an unknown male subject with a flashlight looking inside and attempting to open car doors in the parking lot of 1861 Grand Avenue. Upon arrival, police saw a male subject trying to walk away from the vehicles.

After an investigation, officers’ found a broken car window with a missing GPS. Defendant Andres Vines, 36, of Baldwin was placed under arrest without incident. A flashlight, GPS and a hypodermic needle filled with an unknown liquid were recovered.
Defendant Vines is being charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5th Degree, Petit Larceny, Criminal Mischief 4th Degree and Criminally Possessing a Hypodermic Instrument. He will be arraigned on Monday, March 07, 2016 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
