(Long Island, NY) Suffolk County Police have arrested a man for stealing and dismantling motorcycles and ATVs at his Bay Shore home.
Third Precinct Crime Section Police Officer Daniel Fandrey initiated an investigation that led to the execution of a search warrant by Third Squad Detectives. At 4:55 p.m., Third Squad Detectives, assisted by members of the Third Precinct Crime Section, executed a search warrant at that the suspect’s Bay Shore residence.

The search revealed that Edison Vasquez was conducting a vehicle dismantling operation on the premises. During the execution of the search warrant, numerous stolen motorcycle and ATV parts were recovered. Further investigation revealed Vasquez dismantled motorcycles and ATVs on the premises and would subsequently sell parts via craigslist and Facebook.
Third Squad Detectives charged Vasquez, 19, with two counts of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, two counts of Illegal Possession of a Vehicle Identification Number, Grand Larceny 3rd Degree and Burglary 3rd Degree. Additionally, an Islip Town investigator and Fire Marshal responded and observed numerous building and zoning code violations.
Vasquez will be held overnight at the Third Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on March 30.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
