Deadline for Nominations from Chambers of Commerce is Friday, March 11, 2016
(Long Island, NY) Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone announced that nominations for the County’s “Recognizing Our Independent Business Women” awards program are now being accepted until Friday, March 11. Local chambers of commerce can nominate one female business owner who has excelled in her career and given back to her respective community.
“It is an honor to recognize the triumphs and accomplishments of our local women business owners because they are the ones who help drive our local economies every day,” said Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone. “This program honors the women in our region who have not only strived for success, but provided the blueprint and helped forge the paths for other women and aspiring entrepreneurs to follow.”
The event is being held as part of Suffolk County’s tribute to National Women’s History Month. The awards ceremony for the 2016 “Recognizing Our Independent Business Women” program will be held on Thursday, March 23 at the Suffolk County Women’s Hall of Fame in the plaza of the H. Lee Dennison Building in Hauppauge.
Nomination forms can be found on Suffolk County’s website, www.suffolkcountyny.gov. The form requires three separate reasons and achievements for nomination Chamber of commerce can submit nominations to Grace Ioannidis at grace.ioannidis@suffolkcountyny.gov for consideration.
