(Long Island, NY) The Second Squad reports the arrest of a Bethpage man for Assault that occurred on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at 7:28 pm in Bethpage.
According to detectives, defendant Jeff Saint-Gerard, 28, was involved in a verbal argument in front of his home with two male victims ages 29 and 16. The argument escalated when the defendant attempted to hit both victims with his 2012 Volkswagen Jetta.

The defendant then exited his vehicle and slashed the 29 year old victim in his face, left arm and chest. The defendant also stabbed the 16 year old victim in the chest. Both victims were driven by private auto to a local hospital where they are listed in stable condition.
Defendant Saint-Gerard was placed under arrest at his home without further incident. The knife was recovered at the scene.
The defendant is being charged with 2 counts of Assault 1st Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree and Reckless Endangerment 2nd Degree. He will be arraigned on Saturday, January 02, 2016 at First District Court, Hempstead.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
