(Long Island, NY) Suffolk County Police Fourth Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a man in Islandia on Tuesday, November 3.
Carlos Santiago was driving a 2008 Honda northbound on Motor Parkway when his vehicle was struck by a tractor trailer that was traveling westbound on Express Drive North at 1:15 p.m.

Santiago, 35, of Brentwood, was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the tractor trailer, William Garrison, 56, of Frankfort, Indiana, was transported via ambulance to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore for non-life-threatening injuries.
The tractor trailer was inspected at the scene by the Suffolk County Motor Carrier Safety Section and the Honda was impounded for a safety check. The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact Fourth Squad detectives at 631-854-8452.
