(Long Island, NY) The Third Squad reports the details of an arrest for Robbery that occurred on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at 6:30 pm in Greenvale.
According to detectives, a 72 year old female victim was putting packages into her vehicle when a male subject grabbed her from behind, put a knife to her throat and pushed her halfway into the vehicle. The subject then forcibly removed the victims’ ring. The subject then fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction.

After an investigation through DNA left at the scene, detectives were able to arrest Benis Solis, 24, of Bronx at his home on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 without incident.
Defendant Solis is being charged with Robbery 1st Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree. He will be arraigned on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at First District Court, Hempstead.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
