(Long Island, NY) What’s a well dressed dog supposed to wear? Well, if your closest canine “supermodel” is planning to attend Long Island’s Annual Family Festival on Saturday, September 14th at 2pm at Copiague’s Tanner Park (raindate September 28), then the outfit should take on an international flair, because one of the festival’s special events is “Corky’s International Haute Couture Fashion Show.” The show takes place each year in memory of Corky Nightingale, a West Highland White Terrier who was the inspiration for several canine fun events which take place throughout Long Island on an ongoing basis.

Canines from all over the world are invited to parade in Prada, sparkle in Swaroski and walk in the park as they wag their tails on the “Catwalk” to the delight of dog lovers and the “pupparazzi.” French Poodles just might be wearing berets while Scottish Terriers could be sporting their kilts, dachunds might wear their lederhosen and English Bull Dogs might tip their derby’s at you. Whatever international breed your four legged fashionista is, he or she will have a howling good time.
In addition to “Corky’s International Haute Couture Fashion Show,” the festival will feature an exhilarating carnival, entertainment at the Festival Stage, a Pet Expo in the Park, Family Festival Pizza Eating Contest, Tanner Park Beach Car Cruise, Inflated Balloon Fashion Show, a pirate show, Gamin’ Ride Gaming Bus, Magical Show with Magician John Reid, Food Court with a great selection of delicious food, Oceanview Art, Craft and Gift Show, New York Life’s Child ID & Protection Booth and numerous other exciting activities.
