(Oyster Bay, NY) Long Island’s own Charlie Dane announced today that she will be performing three special area shows in October at familiar places. First, on Saturday October 5th at 4pm Charlie will be appearing for the second time at the Cedar Beach Blues Festival on Harbor Beach Rd in Mount Sinai, NY on the acoustic stage. Then, catch Charlie and her new band playing on Saturday October 12th at 2pm on the main Harry Chapin stage at the Huntington Fall Festival. The largest of its kind in the Northeast, the Long Island Fall Festival at Huntington has become the premier event for family fun. Brought to you by the Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce at Huntington and the Town of Huntington, this event is held annually in early October and attracts tens of thousands of families from all over the New York tri-state area to the 25 acres of Heckscher Park. Lastly, Charlie will be performing for her 4th straight year at Oyster Bay’s Oyster Festival on the main stage Saturday October 19th at 2pm. Charlie Dane and her band will rock out on this stage! Charlie was also asked to do a special performance on the Audrey avenue stage at 12:45pm on Sunday the 20th. This stage is directly across from Canterbury Ales, known by all the locals as a premier restaurant for great oysters, seafood and beers. The Oyster Festival will be celebrating it’s 30th year and was voted the Best of LI in 2012 by the Long Island Press. The Oyster Festival is the East Coast’s largest waterfront festival. The career of Charlie Dane has truly seen strong upward movement over the past several years; recently she was chosen as one of the seven youth artist Finalists aged 13 to 20 from across the country who contributed original songs to the non-profit PAVE the Way Project which raises awareness of dating violence alongside their peers. In 2012 she joined the world class lineup for the 8th annual Mountain Jam Festival at Hunter Mountain, NY headlined by Allman Brothers Band guitarist Warren Haynes and Gov’t Mule and the legendary Steve Winwood from Traffic and Blind Faith with performances by Michael Franti & Spearhead, Dawes, and the Tedeschi Trucks Band among others. The past two summers, Charlie has been playing at music festivals such as South by Southwest, Gathering of the Vibes, Great South Bay Music Festival, Equifunk, the Clearwater Music Festival, the Flood City Music Festival, the 27 and 28th Annual Oyster Festivals as well as for Camps-R-Us and Girl Scout Summer Camps and the Westfield and Simon Malls.
She has also wowed audiences across NYC, opening up for Eric Krasno at Sullivan Hall, for Papa Grows Funk at Hiro Ballroom (at a benefit to help Paul Newman’s Hole in the Wall Gang Camp), and for members of The Radiators – playing as Raw Oyster Cult at AOA. Additionally, Charlie has appeared on stage as a duet with the great George Porter Jr and the Runnin Pardners and has been invited back several times to the legendary Bitter End from the recognition that she received at their “Chick Singer Night” series.
