(Long Island, NY) The state’s charter school association today responded to worn-out calls for the charter school cap to remain in place, despite the 50,000 families currently on waiting lists in New York City who want better school options for their children.
Northeast Charter Schools Network CEO Kyle Rosenkrans said, “This is a classic case of the usual suspects doing what they usually do, which is try to block parents from having real choices. I always thought progressives like that fought for the have-nots against the haves. Once again they are showing they would keep a poor child in “struggling” school rather than give them a chance at a real choice. It’s despicable and insulting to tens of thousands of kids they are trying to keep down.”
